Princess of Denmark wears Nutcase Love Helmet
Back in 2010, Eureka was entering its second summer with the Nutcase Helmets range in Australia when our cofounder noticed we needed to offer a Little Nutty helmet which had some pink!
Her young daughter was partly the inspiration. It seems all little girls in Sydney between the ages of 3 and 6 were busy chasing butterflies, attending fairy-themed birthday parties, wearing fairy frocks and generally having a grand time pretending they were beautiful princesses. And who can blame them?
So, Kathy scribbled away on a Wacom tablet and then contacted Mike Morrow, founder of Nutcase Helmets with an idea. The Love helmet was born.
Kathy's inspiration was layers of petals in rich pink tones - a lot like the petal confetti in the basket below. And for the helmet, the petals just had to be love heart shaped.
By mid 2010, it was accepted as a Nutcase design for Australia and Kathy asked to name it Love.
Once it went into production in October 2010, it was offered in the Little Nutty range and later in the Street range, around the world.
We've always felt that it was a joy to represent fun brands and beautiful products, so it was a bonus thrill to see this split-moment inspiration take off.
Over the years Love was a popular helmet and it also lead to the recent Lotsa Love helmet which is a fabulous mash-up of pink and purple. Who knows, it may reappear from the Nutcase vault one day!
So, it was extra fun to see this recent article showing a real princess, Princess Isabella of Denmark, sporting the lovely Love helmet....some 10,000 kms away from where the idea began.
